The Trustees of the Library have made clear their commitment to the branch libraries; they are an integral part of the Jones Library System.  Indeed, the Town is obliged to maintain libraries in the branch buildings or lose those buildings. Because of energy savings and operational efficiencies with better sightlines and working conditions, the operational costs of the new Jones facility are projected not to increase significantly, putting no pressure on the budgets for the branch libraries.
