Veterans Breakfast for All – Friday

Make new friends, get to know Amherst Veterans and hear their stories. At each breakfast, a veteran or veteran ally, will tell their personal story regarding military service. Generation after generation reveals that those going to war to defend our country come back spiritually and morally wounded, regardless of the bodily consequences of combat. We want to bring veterans together for food and friendship to help coalesce a spirit of camaraderie to enable authentic, veteran-oriented communities to flourish. Open to all; bagels, donuts, and coffee provided for free. Friday, 8:00-9:00 am in the Bangs Center. MORE

Newsies! – Thursday through Sunday

Join Amherst Community Theater for an electrifying production of Disney’s Newsies, the Tony Award®-winning musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and book by Harvey Fierstein. Inspired by the 1899 newsboys’ strike, this rousing tale of resilience, justice, and community is more relevant than ever in today’s fight for workers’ rights and equality. Our spirited, inclusive production features a dynamic cast of all-gendered newsies, reimagining the story’s heart with dynamic choreography and show-stopping music. Nine performances at Bowker Auditorium, UMass running January 16–19 and January 24–26, 2025. MORE
