It’s Monday and we’re back with our roundup of the week’s events. Here are this week’s town government meetings, and cultural and recreational events that caught our eye.

ARHS Varsity Athletics at Home – Monday and Tuesday

Catch ARHS varsity athletes in action at home this week! Boys hockey vs. Agawam on Monday at 5:00 pm (Orr rink). Boys basketball vs. High School of Science & Technology on Monday at 7:00 pm. Girls Basketball vs. Ware on Tuesday at 6:00 pm. MORE

Jones Library Board of Trustees – Monday

The Library Board of Trustees meets on Monday to get updates on the building project and the fundraising work, as well as other regular updates. The Board also will review a draft FY27 budget request. Monday, 4:00-6:00 pm on Zoom. MORE

Amherst & Regional School Committees – Tuesday

The Amherst and Regional SCs meet on Tuesday to review and vote on a proposed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the APEA, the union representing teachers, paraeducators, and clerical staff in the Amherst, Pelham, and Regional school districts. The proposed MOU is an agreement regarding additional work days to prepare for the move of the 6th grade to the middle school in the fall of 2026. It’s A Wonderful Life @ Amherst Cinema – Tuesday

Head to Amherst Cinema on Tuesday to see the holiday classic, It’s A Wonderful Life. Wonderfully drawn and acted by a superb cast (Donna Reed, Beulah Bondi, Thomas Mitchell, Lionel Barrymore, and Gloria Grahame), and told with a sense of image and metaphor that appears in no other Frank Capra film, It’s A Wonderful Life is an epiphany of movie sentiment and a transcendent experience. Free Parking Saturdays – Saturday

Take your time exploring shops and sampling local flavors across downtown Amherst this holiday season! The Town of Amherst is suspending parking enforcement in all metered spaces and public lots in downtown Amherst on Saturdays through the end of December. MORE
