We are grateful for the vigorous debate in the comments on the opinion pieces we published recently about the Town Council’s vote on a resolution in support of a ceasefire in Gaza.

Thank you, commenters, for sharing your perspectives with us and our readers. We encourage debate like this and hope that it continues.
We also think this is a good time to reshare our comment policy and explain how we are implementing it.
On any of our posts, we welcome comments that relate directly to that post and are respectful, truthful, and offered in good faith. We will not publish anonymous comments, so be sure to include your first and last names in the body of your comment. (If your username includes your full name, that is sufficient.)
We will not publish comments that include factual inaccuracies, or that include statements that we deem to be personal attacks or speculation about someone’s intent or motives.
We may edit a comment to remove a sentence or phrase that doesn’t align with this policy, or we may reject a comment altogether. We will let you know if we reject your comment and will explain the reason. You are always welcome to revise and resubmit your comment.
All comments will be reviewed by at least two members of our Editorial Board before being edited or rejected.
This policy applies to comments on this website as well as on our Facebook and Instagram posts.
Because we are moderating comments, your comment may not appear on the web page (or on Facebook or Instagram) right away. We strive to review and publish or respond to every comment as quickly as possible. While we review most comments within a few hours of submission, we commit to responding or publishing a comment within 24 hours of submission.
Please do not resubmit your comment if you don’t see it published; your comment may end up being flagged and filtered out as spam by WordPress. If you do not see your comment online, and you have not heard from us that it was rejected, please email us at theamherstcurrent@gmail.com.
